DESIGN AND OPERATING PRINCIPLE

The separator consists of the casing with electric drive, drum, skimmed milk receiver, cream receiver, float, float chamber, milk bowl, and plug.

The switch and armored cord are mounted on the casing.

The electric motor is fastened to the casing with three stud assemblies. To reduce hard push at the motor start and to avoid drum shift from conical end extension of the driven shaft, shock-absorbers – bushings – are inserted into the electric engine flange.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

ATTENTION! READ THIS DATA SHEET CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU START OPERATING THE SEPARATOR.

Do not operate the separator continuously for more than one hour without subsequent 20-30 min interruption for cooling.

Stop operating and remove the cause of the trouble, if unwanted sounds or elevated vibration are detected in the separator.

Note: Slight chattering of the separator vessel is allowed when operating without milk in the milk bowl, i.e. at the end of separation.

Do not operate the separator with loose drum nut.

Do not disassemble the separator until the drum fully stops.

Do not operate the separator with faulty electric wiring.

Switch off the separator and unplug it before you start cleaning it. Do not unplug by pulling on the cord.

Do not remove the milk feed plug until the drum reaches its full rotational speed (in 30-40 sec after switching on).

Do not switch off the separator electric drive, if the plug is removed and milk is still coming into the rotating drum.

Do not operate the separator if line voltage drops below 190V. In case voltage dropped below allowable margin, it is recommended that the separator is turned on through the domestic voltage regulator.

SETTING-UP PROCEDURES

The premises, where the separator is to be installed, must be dust-free and dry, with humidity of (65±15) %.

The installation area must be horizontal and even. It is recommended that the separator is fastened with three screw and washer assemblies through hole in the support.

In case of long-term storage of the separators at a sub-zero temperature, you must keep it in a warm dry location for at least six hours before switching on.

INSTALLATION

Before switching on, observe the following assembly sequence: put the drum assembly on tapered part of the shaft by slightly pressing over it with your hand.

Place the skimmed milk receiver (21) and the cream receiver (11). Be sure to observe their correct positioning on the casing and against each other.

Note: If your separator has a plastic casing, when installing the skimmed milk receiver (21), you must match its notch with a lug inside the casing.

Turn over the drum nut with your hand and make sure it does not contact with the casing and skimmed milk and cream receivers.

Place the nozzles of the skimmed milk and cream receivers conveniently, set up the bowls, bigger one for skimmed milk and smaller one for cream.

Place the float chamber, put the float in the chamber, place the milk bowl, and insert the plastic plug into the cone hole of the casing at the bottom of the milk bowl.

Note: If you install the plastic float chamber, you must match its notch with a slot on the cream receiver.

ATTENTION! THE PLUG IN THE MILK BOWL MUST BE IN CLOSED POSITION, I.E. SHARP-POINTED PLUG HANDLE MUST BE TURNED SIDEWARD FROM THE NOTCH ON THE MILK BOWL EDGE. SWITCH ON THE SEPARATOR ONLY WITH A KEY SWITCH.

Before the separator is plugged in, set the key switch to position “0”, i.e. “OFF”. Then plug in the separator.

ATTENTION! DO NOT OPERATE THE SEPARATORS IN THE FARMS WITHOUT OVERLOAD AND SHORT-CIRCUIT PROTECTION DEVICE.

MILK SEPARATION

Pour the strained whole milk in the milk bowl. It is better to separate milk immediately after milking or preheating to a temperature of 35-40°C.

Switch on the electric drive. After full rotational speed of the drum is reached, in 30-40 sec turn on the tap, i.e. turn the plug handle (by its sharp end) to the notch on the milk bowl edge.

After completing the separation, pour three liters of warm water in the milk bowl to wash it, and pass it through the operating separator to remove residues of skimmed milk and cream.

The separator may operate continuously for one hour only, after which you must switch off the separator for 20-30 min for cooling.

ATTENTION! CAREFULLY REMOVE THE DRUM FROM THE ELECTRIC DRIVE SHAFT BY APPLYING FORCE UPWARD. DO NOT SWING THE DRUM ON THE SHAFT UNNECESSARILY, SINCE IT CAN CAUSE DEFORMATION AND DISTORTION OF THE SHAFT OR SHAFT CONE.

Note: During go-no-go inspection of the electric drive in store (with no milk in the separator), slight chattering of the casing-mounted vessel is allowed.
